Palas de Rei

We spent the night in a bar (ex) - it had been converted to an Albergue, but there was still bar equipment there and the bathrooms and showers were downstairs and outside.  The name of the place is KM 88 because it is 88 kilometers from Santiago.

We left at 7 AM and the bar in town was open so we had to eat.  The weather prediction was for mostly sun.  THEY LIED!  It rained all day on an off again. We have had several days of rain and were looking forward to some sunshine. Perhaps that is why they had the following I the bar.

There was one lady on the walk who brightened the day with her atire - saw her several times.

The vistas today were mostly rural.

We finally saw blue sky

We also noted the increased volume of pilgrims today.  In order to get your compestella ( certificate that you did the walk) you must travel the last 100 km.  Tours have been set up where the people travel in groups with small packs while most of their goods are transported by bus to their reserved lodging.  It is a little irritating because they are loud  ( we do not have that much energy after walking over 700 kilometers), walk three or more abreast and are hard to ignore.  But they are fellow pilgrims each doing his/her Camino.

We also see images of St. James along the path .

Enough for today
