Bercianos del Real Camino

We got up at 5:30 and left at 6:00am. Cool, very clear and a bit windy. Had to stop and put on gloves and a jacket and a fleece hood. A quarter of a mile later off comes the hood and fleese gloves. Good to have the extra warmth if needed. It's so beautiful to walk into the new day. The sunrise is at our back so every time you stop and turn around the picture has changed.

Just after sunrise we entered the town of Sahagun.
Sunday an NO traffic.
Here is our new group with the addition of Kevin Gibson. Who arrived by cab 12 km away in Sahagun from a train ride from Madrid. After a beer we were all in bed at the alberque, 945 pm .
After this picture was taken we took a break.
This pilgrem was relaxed.
Half way to the end.

Morning reflection,the five of us.
Another half way piont
Bridge walking out of Sahagun.
Sign entering our town for the day.
A fallen pilgrem along the way.

We are in the same albergue as last year in Bercianos de Real Camino. It is a parish run alberque with people who have done the camino previously who take their vacations and work 16 hours each day they are here. This year there are two women from Spain and one from Italy. They say they are having a great time.
A couple of pictures of our place tonight.

No wi-fi here so we have to go to the local bar for internet. Finally got good service and was able to FaceTime Del. It was great to talk and see her again.

You know as we walk for 6 plus hours a day there is plenty of time to think about very important stuff like the reasonably polished stones we walk past that are in the trail. So here's my thought: how many people walking by a two inch wide stone on a 6 to  8 foot wide path does it take to polish it? Allot!

I hope I can find a dentist to at least temporally take care of my tooth when we get to Leon in two days.

Feet still are an issue in our little group. Kate says she had found a couple of small blisters on the bottom of her feet today and Brian little toes hurt him and he had at least one blister on one of them. No fun to have foot issues. It's normal to have tired feet at the end of a days walk but to add blisters onto them is not a good picture.

This evening just before dinner we went outside to watch the sunset. Sunrise and sunset in a day, a seldom seen treat.
Waiting for dinner. This alberque provides lodging, dinner and breakfast for a donation only.
Dinner
