Stella which means star in Spanish

We walked about 24 km today to Stella which is another 1000 plus year old town on the camino. We started out at 6:30 am and had a nice walk in the dark for an hour or so. It rained last night an caused the fennel to have a great smell along the first part of our walk.
We walked along a old Roman road for a mile or so. It wasn't in the best condition after all this time. I can only imagine it was a fine road when new.
We have been leaving early because of the heat, 90s yesterday and the upper 80s today. The heat has been the hardest part of the walk the last couple of days. Tomorrow is going to be extra long so we can get into Logrono two days from now reasonably early so as to check  out the city's wine festival.
We met some great people and keep meeting others. Also the Spanish people we have met have treated us wonderfully.
Fig trees are plentiful along the way and are a great treat. So sweet and good.

We have been traveling with Kate and Liz and seem to paired for a while. Kate is from Seattle and has a mutual friend with Guys wife Kathy and Liz who is from Scotland. They both live on the southern Spain Coast. Their husbands are in Munich for October Fest while they are doing the camino. Great people who are fun to travel with.
