Heidelberg

We are still visiting friends from last year's  Camino.  Above is Werner and his wife.  We are staying with them until we go to the Camino.

Below we are crossing a river in order to visit the home of Karl Benz the person who made the first internal combustion car.

We then picked up Telisa and Katrina  (who had taken a ride share service to meet us at speeds over 100 mph which are normal on the autobahn)

Everywhere we went there were festivals  going on.
We then went to Heidelberg to see the castle, shop and drink some German beer.

great  Christmas shop and knife holder .

Tomorrow we will find out how the Air France strike hits us going from Frankfurt to Paris and what alternatives we have.

More later

Guy

It's now the next morning ( Sunday). The airline strike is on and as luck would have  it our flight is cancelled. Off to the train station to spend an extra $130 to get a ticket to Paris tomorrow. Hope they have space for us.
It was so much fun last night visiting with all our camino friends. This morning Kasia left and is headed home for a few days and then back to Burgos Spain to continue on her camino from last year. Sad to see her leave us.
Talisa had an accident last February where she was hit by a drunk driver when she was crossing a street. She almost died and had to be brought back a couple of times at the hospital. She has not been able to resume her school studies and her job because of constant physical therapy needed. She has a most amazing attitude where she feels she has been given an opportunity to live to do something special in her life to help others. She harbors no resentment and feels that this experience has been a most positive experience. An amazing attitude for a 22 year old person.
Talisa would love to join us on the camino  but can't now. Next year she will do another camino.
As Guy said above. More later.
