Pomplona to Puente de la Reina

We had forgotten that the youth of Spain party a lot.  It was Friiday Pm and the parties (noise ) went on till 5 AM.  Wow.  The streets were full of liter, but we still slept!

It was another awesome day.

The walk began at 6:30 AM and went thru the streets of Pamplona.  We found a coffee shop open, not a surprise, and received our first nurishment of the day - coffee and pastries.  We were again reminded of the spirit of the Camino when a total stranger approached us and gave us a bag of  (delicious) dried figs just because we were pilgrims.

There was one great local who could have worn my hat (Older than Dirt).  The great part was that she had her well earned wrinkles and earbuds - sort of lie Paul.  I think she and her dog do this walk every day.

We then continued with only one additional coffee stop to the top of the hill with the sculptures

Ignore the bikes.  I also wanted to customize one shot.

The joy continued when we found Sooa at the same spot.  She was our first w Camio friend this year who left us in Orrison.  We were not sure if we would ever see her again,  but that is how the Camino works.  She stayed an extra day in Pamplona for blisters and we are on the same tract again.  She was easily identified by her butt (see earlier post).

We continue to see our "new" friends and make new friends.

It has occurred to me that our many readers might wonder how Paul and I could go 500 miles without getting lost.  A darned good question.  The answer is that there is a great system of yellow arrows and clam shells marking the way. The following are examples of these helps.

We could present more, but they would be similar to the above .

We are now in Puenta de la Riena.  Three churches (1000 years old) and about 1000 people population and I went to mass - very nice

We are currently at a local bar on Saturday PM - a little different from our bars.  See the kids.

That is it for today.  The walk is hard and good.  More later.  It is raining and tomorrow is a ?

Giy
