Logrono to Najera

Had a late night last night celebrating the wine festival and saying goodbye to several pilgrims who were leaving from Logroño and heading home.  Woke up a little late for some reason.  The departures included our Scottish companion (Liz pictured below)

We are now a group of three until Brian comes

As we left there were still a lot of kids in the street which was being cleaned with fire hoses .

A love rock
Coming into Navarette

Leaving Logrono we had no coffee shops for hours but kept going walking thru a huge park.  Finally arrived at Navarette had coffee and toured a beautiful church - creaky old wood floors and a beautiful alter.

After that we just walked and walked thru agriculture areas.  The grape harvest is beginning.

Along the way we ran into large groups of rock cairns erected by pilgrims - a lot of work but it gets the rocks off the path ,

We also met a German pilgrim with his dog.  He camps out since the dog can not stay in the Albergues.  The dog has its own pack.

We tend to focus on old Spain but are reminded at times of other attributes like construction materials .

Tonight we are staying in a municipal Albergue with  90 of our friends in one room.  Private Albergues are looking better.

We did 30 kilometers today and will do the same tomorrow.  We need to get some sleep.
